denis, can you send me that example .tab file so i can test here, im =
having the same problem of you (i think), im trying to use mapinfo files =
in php_mapscript and no luck.

The TAB file is very basic, just one layer. If I run the ogrinfo tool =

Had to open data source read-only.

using driver `MapInfo File' successful.
