[Mapserver-users] mapserv doesn't work

Hi!
This is my first time to compile mapserver in linux.
But I use mapserver in win2k for a long time.
First download gd-2.0.15, make and install it.
Then i download mapserver4.0b, make it and copy
mapserv to cgi-bin.
But when i input http://localhost/cgi-bin/mapserv ,
the info in the brower is 
Server error!

The server encountered an internal error and was
unable to complete your request.

    Error message:
Premature end of script headers: mapserv 

I have tried shp2img, it work fine, and generate
proper  image.
Can you give me some suggestion?
