[Mapserver-users] How to show high resolution image Landsat

Sarawut,

Mapserver should display your image at it's original resolution if you zoomed 
in far enough. However, mapserver 3.6.x does not support 24bit color output. 
Maybe the degradation that you see is not the spatial resolution but a 
degradation in color? Mapservers dithering is not really sophisticated... You 
will get far better results if you scale down your original 24bit color 
landsat image to 8bit (using a color palet) and use that 8bit image in your 
map file. You could do that with tools like imagemagick or probably other 
image processing programs.
