Hi Eric,

Thanks for the reply, like you say, it's good to know that you're not
doing something really obviously wrong. There seems to be a lot of
people experiencing problems with file handles and mod_perl on the
internet, so it may be worth a post to the mod_perl mailing list.

Other than that, I guess the only other way is to write a custom sink
function for the gdImagePng function and then pass back the image data
back as a char array. However, I imagine this won't be as fast as
writing directly to the handle :(. Regardless of the method used, I'd
definitely be interested in helping out and/or testing any patches that
you come up with....
