Problem compiling Mapserver

Welcome Etienne,

I assume you want to start using mapserver/python/zmapserver on windows since you mention a dos
command bar, is that right? I would suggest using precompiled binaries instead of compiling
everything on your own.

Have a look at http://mapserver.gis.umn.edu/cgi-bin/wiki.pl?PythonMapScript
there you will find links where to download precompiled python/mapscript binaries ("External
Links"). You will need one of these (depending on your requirements, with oraclespatial, etc.) to
use zmapserver.

Be careful to choose packages that use the same python version, e.g. if you use zope2.7 this will
mean you have to use python2.3 and accordingly choose the mapscript/python build.

After you have installed the python/mapscript binary you can start using mapscript in a python shell
and you can use zmapserver with zope.

HTH, Michael
