Right, however the WMS spec is such that a WMS is SLD enabled or not.
In WMS Capabilities XML, if value:
/WMT_MS_Capabilities/Capability/UserDefinedSymbolization/@SupportSLD = 1
Then ALL layers can be styled by SLD.
