Better Looking Maps

I have worked with Tiger data and found that although it is not as high
quality as the commercial products it is detailed enough for most street
level mapping applications. There are even commercial locator services
out there using Tiger data. It is the only free, street level data
source for the USA I know of. There are other places to get the data too:
