Another question about shapefiles

You can convert it manually -- I don't think there are any tools to do this
automatically since your data can be in many different formats.  It isn't
that difficult to write a simple C or java program to do this.  The
shapefile format is very straightforward.

You should read the whitepaper from ESRI:
