WMS Getfeatureinfo Filter Request Problem

Can someone tell me what I'm doing wrong in this request (filteritem and filter parameter formats)? I'm trying to filter features in the ikonos layer by the field MCCA_FULL.

http://server_name/script_name?&request=GetFeatureInfo&map=map_name&srs=EPSG:4326&radius=1&width=328&height=281&query_layers=ikonos&layers=ikonos&bbox=-80.7779,24.7364,-80.458,25.0113&X=166&Y=142&wmtver=1.0&FEATURE_COUNT=3000&ikonos_filteritem=MCCA_FULL&ikonos_filter='/5/'

I've also tried 
&ikonos_filter=/5/
&ikonos_filter=5
.......

I get a full set of features without filtering.
