FW: Mapfile metadata escaping params

Hi,

I have some values like:

"wms_abstract" "this is my "abstract""

...which render parsing errors.

Is it possible to 'escape' these in the mapfile?  I've tried:

"wms_abstract" "this is my \"abstract\""

..with no success.

Any ideas?
