How can I draw a symbol or label on the map given a coordinate?

Hi,

I am working on an address matching program. I have set up a WMS server
using MapServer and found a way to get a coordinate for an civic address. It
is possible to draw a symbol or a label or anything on that coordinate? Does
MapServer has a build-in feature? Or do I have to use write my own program
using MapScript?

I appreciate any help!
