Thanks Franck for your reply, it explains a lot of things... but I persist to believe that such a capability to known any layer extent should be in any mapserver engine (and not also UMN mapserver). Is there an "historical" or technical reason for this lack (due to dependencies, perhaps)? Best regards. Yvan
