PHP Mapscript object

Hi all,

I have started work on a difinitive PHP class (as an adaptor pattern)
that encapsulates all of the PHP mapscript API, and makes it available
in a PHP4 compatible class. 

I was just wondering if anyone has atempted this type of thing before?
This class will also make use of my previous postgis class, which can be
found at http://avoir.uwc.ac.za/projects/postgis/
