TIN support

Travis, 

There are no currently plans to try and generate TINs with gdal_contour
or GDAL/OGR in general.

As Paul mentions, GMT may be useful, and you can gdal_translate
data to GMT raster fromat using the GMT driver.  

GRASS also has quite a bit of DEM modelling and may include TIN
handling.
