Benjamin,

I do not know of any good free data for non-US part of the world. I'd be
interested to hear what you find.

For the US, there's of cause the Tiger/Line data, made freely available by
the US Census Bureau. http://www.census.gov/geo/www/tiger/

Xin

Hello,

I'm completly newbie about cartography, so I beg your pardon in advance
for asking this question.

For a web application, we need a georeferenced map of the world, only with
borders (and an other one of Europe).
The aim is to be able to show on these maps some points we know the
longitude and latitude.

Where to find this kind of basic maps?

Thanks in advance for your help.
