brightness of TIFF or IMG

Dear ALL,
I am facing a problem with my IMG or TIFF files displaying in MapServer.
The original pictures look great but displaying them in MapServer they look
like covered with clouds (very light as if the brightness is set up to 50
percent). Black areas in the original are gray in the Mapserver image.
Actually, I don't know what to do. Any help is more welcome !!!
