bug in 4.8 WFS?: MultiPolygonStringPropertyType instead of MultiPolygonPro

No there is not, but there should be. Perhaps Sean might have an idea about how
we could build those type of tests into his existing framework.

This leads me to a question, are there any automated test cases already 
for the WFS interface which check the validity of the XML output against 
the schemas?
