request mode to get service info (or "Capabilities")

Richard -

Not that I'm aware of, but remember that the "mode" MapServer uses is
specified in the HTTP request. There's no reason you couldn't include a
single WMS request to a MapServer instance that was otherwise operating
in "native" mode. You only need to be sure that your MapServer includes
WMS server support.

Subject: [UMN_MAPSERVER-USERS] request mode to get service info (or
"Capabilities")

Hi,

does Mapserver (in "native" mode, no WMS Mapserver) support a request
mode to let a http client receive the current mapfile or a similar
document that contains information about available layers etc. (such
like WMS GetCapabilities or ArcIMS ServiceInfo)?

regards, Richard
