image mode and symbols

If I get the bug report right - the problem has not yet been solved in the
current version?
Well, I returned to image mode RGB (not RGBA), where everything is fine
except that some symbols appear as black squares. I should say - depending
on how the symbol is drawn it appears as black square or just right. So its
not a matter of which symbol, but when or how....it drives me crazy.
