Assign special dbf to shapefile

When I saw this JOIN attribute in the mapfile documentation, I tought of the
solution of my problem, too. But then I looked at the documentation and was
some kind of dissapointed. I would like to use the data within the
expression field of my (dynamically created) classes. In spite of everything
thanks for your answer.
