gdal problem with solaris

Hi!

I'm trying to make available the "png raster" feature for the mapserver 4.4.2. The GDAL library seems to be the appropriate library to be installed in order for the mapserver to draw the feature. I installed the GDAL libraries in /usr/lib but the mapserver is unconscious of these libraries. Is there any configuration that has to be done for this to work? 

OS: Solaris 10

PHP: php4

Apache: Apache 2
