Shapefile vs. DB connections

I wonder if Brock Anderson looked at that as part of his MapServer vs 
ArcIMS comparison.  I know he was specifically looking at SDE, but i am 
just curious if he ran any postgis tests, because i remember from one of 
his MUM3 slides that he had shapefile numbers.
