WMS GetFeatureInfo problem with ArcSDE layer

Bart,
Thanks for your quick response!
The table had only the normal ArcSDE applied OBJECTID unique index
and no separate user primary key, although other layers that work
correctly have the same setup.
I've tried adding a separate user PK on another column but it doesn't
help the problem.
One further interesting (and confusing) fact is that out of the 200
or so features in this layer, a small number return the correct value
when clicked. Seems to be no pattern (spatial or attribute-wise) as
to which features work correctly - maybe its just co-incidence, I
guess even randomly some will be correct!?
