Point layer not displaying

I have two layers in a map file, a point layer and a line layer.  If I am
zoomed out to the full extent of the point layer it shows up, however if I
zoom in at all, the point layer will no longer display.  I am not having
this problem with the line layer at all.  I have not defined any min or
max scale for either layer.  Any help at all would be greatly appreciated.
