date filters

Hi list,

I am having no luck with trying to apply a date filter to a LAYER, normal
string filters work fine. It's a shapefile which has a dbf with a column of
type date. Values in there are e.g. (12 april 2005):

12-4-2005

The filter I am currently trying is:

FILTER ( '[EINDDATUM]' ge '2005-07' )

But this also select things like in april 2005.

What am I doing wrong? Thanks in advance. I am using 4.8.1 PHP/Mapscript on
RHE Linux.
