join for expression

Hi all,

i've a question...

i've to use several items in a dbf file external to dfb file of shape that 
i've to show with mapserver

i've to use these items in expression method to show only few part of my shape

i don't know if to do that is possible

I hope that my english'll not be so bad and you'll understand my question

Can someone help me?
