Hi Andre,

is it really the case for libs in /usr/lib like libgd.so?

file on libpng on my machine returns this differing

file /usr/lib/libpng.so.3.1.2.8
/usr/lib/libpng.so.3.1.2.8: ELF 32-bit LSB shared object, Intel 80386,
version 1 (SYSV), stripped

file /usr/lib64/libpng.so.3.1.2.8
/usr/lib64/libpng.so.3.1.2.8: ELF 64-bit LSB shared object, AMD x86-64,
version 1 (SYSV), stripped

architecture:
Linux labrador 2.6.13-15-smp #1 SMP Tue Sep 13 14:56:15 UTC 2005 x86_64 x86_64
x86_64 GNU/Linux

Afaik you will need the 64-bit version of libgd and others.

Regards,
Oliver
