documentation php mapscript

specifying ./configure --with-php=DIR will compile php-mapscript along
with Mapserver.  It has been included in the Mapserver download for some
time now.

After compiling Mapserver, copy the php_mapscript.so file created into
your PHP library/extension/module directory (you can find that in the
php.ini file under extension_dir="PATH"
