Projections

I have found that with my raster image I also have a .tfw, .rrd and a .aux.
I know that the .tfw is a world file, how exactly do I use this to correctly
align the image?

Any ideas on what the other files do?

.tfw contains:

0.609681177000000020

0.0

0.0

-0.609608973000000050

418598.64283825672
