Hi Brad!

When working with tiffs and geotiffs I have had great use of a small 
tool, the Geo TiffExaminer, a free software from Mentor Software.

It has its limitations which you will see, and is not a recent 
release, but given that, it's a useful tool to view and edit tiff 
georeference information. The major limitation is that it does not 
support rotated tiff files.
