String Substitution problem

I need to show the "ows_title" of a layer in a HTML GetFeatureInfo request.
"[cl]" return me the layer's NAME, but I need "ows_title".
I've tried "[metadata_ows_title]", but the result is "[metadata_ows_title]",
without any string substitution. In fact, "[metadata_meta key]" doesn't go
(never does any substitution)!

Help!
