WMS-style standards for querying tables and graphs

Hi there,

our data query/visualization/analyze application ( http:// 
geodata.grid.unep.ch ) consists of different modules, one of which is  
the mapping module.

WMS is a nice possibility to "share" the data in carto format.

To share now the graphing and table-display possibilities, I wonder  
if someone knows about similar OGC standards for the naming of the  
parameters. We do use already different kind of webservices, but I  
still wonder if there is not a more "official" way to do this -  
indicating id, time, style etc...
