SLD parameter ignored on MapServer Debian

Hi,

I am trying to use the SLD parameter with MapServer on Linux (Debian
Etch) but this parameter seems to be ignored (e.g. no messages related
to SLD with DEBUG ON, even if I pass in a stale URL or onvalid XML).
I've read several posts on this issue. Mostly the answer was to compile
with USE_OGR. As I have been using the standard Debian apt-get install I
am trying to figure out first if OGR is already enabled. mapserv -v shows:

MapServer version 4.10.0 OUTPUT=GIF OUTPUT=PNG OUTPUT=JPEG OUTPUT=WBMP
OUTPUT=SVG SUPPORTS=PROJ SUPPORTS=FREETYPE SUPPORTS=WMS_SERVER
SUPPORTS=WMS_CLIENT SUPPORTS=WFS_SERVER SUPPORTS=WFS_CLIENT
SUPPORTS=WCS_SERVER SUPPORTS=THREADS SUPPORTS=GEOS INPUT=EPPL7
INPUT=POSTGIS INPUT=OGR INPUT=GDAL INPUT=SHAPEFILE DEBUG=MSDEBUG

Looks like OGR is supported (?). My installation is working for standard
WMS usage, it is only that passing SLD=<sld-url> seems to be ignored.

thanks,
