wms client not supporting my map file projection

hi all,

I have a wms layer in my map file. The server that provides the wms 
layer does not support the proj="latlong" of my map file.
I really need to keep my map file with latlong projection.
I am very confused with all this projection stuff (proj, datum, ellps) 
so is quite plausible I am doing something really silly.
I keep getting this error:
msPrepareWMSLayerRequest(): WMS server error. WEB.IMAGEPATH must be set 
to use WMS client connections.

Is there a way to solve this out?
