Overriding GeoTIFF projection with world file

Hi all,

we had the same problem. We solved it by patching the file geotiff.cpp of
the gdal distribution. With this patch GDAL now first looks for a worldfile
and only looks for internal georeferences if it cannot find a worldfile. If
someone is interested in this patch i can send it to him or her. Even better
would be an extension as mentioned by Frank.
