[mapserver-users] Hello World Example doesn't work - /var/www/html/tmp

Hi,

I'm new to MapServer and I'm attempting to implement the Hello world example in Bill Kropla's book "Beginning MapServer"  I've run into a problem generating the png image in the tmp directory - /var/www/html/tmp.

The mapserv executable appears to be operating  correctly as I can generate the pngs by manipulating the imagepath to /var/www/html, although it won't display in the html page.

I downloaded Oracle's install of rhel5 and installed httpd with the OS, so I may not have the default settings that MapServer would expect.  My guess is that there is some security configuration in Apache that is causing me heartache.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
