Are you sure you are using php5-curl correctly?

See http://www.php.net/manual/fr/function.curl-setopt.php

what is the parameter name for the $layer variable?
>curl_setopt($curl_init[$i], CURLOPT_POSTFIELDS, $layer);

which is shown in the documentation of php5-curl:

>$data = array('name' => 'Foo', 'file' => '@/home/user/test.png');
>curl_setopt($ch, CURLOPT_POSTFIELDS, $data);

something like this seems better to me:

>$data = array('filter'=>$layer);
>curl_setopt($ch, CURLOPT_POSTFIELDS, $data);
