[mapserver-users] MapServer CGI problem with tomcat 6/7

I have a custom web application that uses MapServer CGI to display maps. It currently runs under Tomcat 5 ok. However, when trying to migrate to Tomcat 6 or 7, I run into a problem that seems to be specific to mapserv.exe.

When I make a call to CATALINA_HOME/cgi-bin/mapserv.exe, the browser displays a blank page and the log shows the response as "200 -" (response="OK, zero byte length"). When I call other executables, they respond as expected (such as CATALINA_HOME/cgi-bin/gifsample.exe), it is just mapserv.exe that returns zero bytes, so the CGI configuration in Tomcat seems to be OK.

I tried mapserv.exe at the command line, and it responds as expected, so it seems to be installed correctly

At this point, I'm assuming that there is some kind of configuration setting (valve?) in Tomcat 6.0 and 7.0 that needs to set or tweaked, but I've run into a wall trying to figure out what the might be. Anybody out there with any ideas?
