That's what I'm trying to determine. Right now, I'm speculating that these
error messages are spurious, but I don't actually know if that's the case.
We are still using the application, so far without ill effect, but if this
is an indication that something is actually wrong I'd like to fix it.

Once we determine for certain that this is a spurious error, I'll certainly
file a bug report.
