Rich,

I think the oracle and sde plugins on gisinternals are only for the win32 mapserver packages. There is this note in the build information. Oracle x64 is only listed with GDAL/OGR, not with MapServer from the build information I looked at (http://vbkto.dyndns.org/sdk/PackageInfo.aspx?file=release-1600-x64-gdal-mapserver.zip)

Note: When using the Oracle and SDE plugins (Win32 packages only) be sure that the client libraries have been installed in the environment previously.

Mike

Subject: [mapserver-users] MapServer x64 with Oracle x64

Hi,

I’m trying to use MapServer on a Windows 2k8 x64 server with 64-bit Oracle. The MapServer I’m using was downloaded from Tamas (gisinternals). MapServer crashes every time I run it. Everything works fine when I publish from a shapefile. But when I try to pull geometry out of Oracle, the exe crashes. I’m using the plugin.

I checked the MapServer and Oracle dlls with dumpbin and everything is 64-bit. I checked the mapserv.exe with DependancyWalker and everything looks ok. Actually it flags IESHIM as a 32-bit but I don’t think it’s a problem. The plugin is 64-bit.

I don’t know what’s wrong. I’ve recreated this on a Win7 64-bit machine with the same issue, so it’s consistent. Anybody out there running MapServer with 64-bit Oracle? Any ideas?

Thanks,
Rich
