[mapserver-users] recommended format for greyscale images

When storing color imagery to be served by MapServer I'm using YCBCR JPEG
compression in a tiled TIFF with overviews. It gives good performance and
good compression. But I'm not sure what is optimal for greyscale images.
Any suggestions?
