[mapserver-users] MapCache - metatiles and multicore systems

Hello

I was wondering if it would be a good idea to lower the metatile parameter in MapCache.  On the one side if the metatile parameter is low, then MapServer (which draws the maps) can run more requests in parallel thus taking greater advantage of the multi-core system.  However, on the other side, if I leave the metatile size large, then MapServer only needs to open the source air photo once.

My service involves using MapServer to draw a Tiff air photo, which then is cached using MapCache.  Everything will be on a single 8 core system.
