[mapserver-users] Shape files or KMLs- rendering which among this is faster?

Hi,

   Can anyone suggest which input format ( Shape file or KML file) will the mapserver render faster and efficiently? Also, my requirement is to classify my features and have different symbology for them. So, is it a good idea for me to save all my features(points/lines/polygons) in to a shape file or a KML file?

Any help is greatly appreciated.
