In-Reply-To: References: Message-ID: <6F331135492B944D90731CE93743D56814D02FC3@FS-EX-DB102.fs.sachsen.de> Hi, I just tested with mod_mapcache and it seems to use 300 as the default for the "expires" child element of a tileset. It sets the Cache-control and Expires headers appropriately - even in WMS mode. Setting the value to 0 turns of the generation of these headers but the browser (at least FF) still uses the If-Modified-Since header when requesting the image again and the server responds with status 304 (not modified) and an empty body. So client side caching seems to work as expected. Message-ID: <1528989132323.37501@canada.ca> Hi ! I'm configuring a WCS web services with files that have many bands, like 150. The layer is only available in WCS and I would like to be able to specify a default band to use. I tried the WMS way with the PROCESSING "BANDS=1" but if I ask for the layer with a WCS 2.0.1 request, all always get all the bands... Here is the request I use: localhost:8080/mapserv?map=/some/path/wcs.map&SERVICE=WCS&VERSION=2.0.1&REQUEST=GetCoverage&COVERAGEID=layer_name&FORMAT=image/tiff&SUBSET=x(-160,-45)&SUBSET=y(25,85) the result (from a 3 band layer) is always a 3 bands layer unless I specify a band to use in my WCS request. I would like it to only give a default band when I don't specify the RANGESUBSET... Any idea on how to do, or I am doing something wrong ? Thanks guys! WMS 1.3.0 does have it defined, and I guess this is what MapServer is populating from wms_attribution_title and its ilk: "7.2.4.6.12 Attribution The optional element provides a way to identify the source of the geographic information used in a Layer or collection of Layers. Attribution encloses several optional elements: states the data provider?s URL; is a human-readable string naming the data provider; <LogoURL> is the URL of a logo image. A <Format> element in LogoURL indicates the MIME type of the logo image, and the attributes width and height state the size of the image in pixels. I noticed a possible odd issue with PARTIALS=FALSE. Normally I would expect that PARTIALS False would not label sections if the label falls off the edge of the map. However in my case for one of the layers in my map file I noticed that only the sections in the center of my map were labeled. About 60% of the labels I would otherwise expect to be labeled did not appear. I am not really sure why more of my sections were not labeled. Here is what I can tell you: * I removed the index files (esri and qix) files. However this should not be an issue because I can see the polygons for sections across the map. * The labels on the map are sparse enough that there should not be any label collision issues with other layers on the map. o Only the center labels appear even if I turn every other layer off in my map. * The map file was upgraded from an older version of mapserver which seemed to work fine. * See an example at https://geomoose.lyonco.org/LyonMoose/BadSectionLabels.png * All the expected labels appear for other layers regardless if PARTIALS are set to true or not. * The map file is relatively simple. If anyone could help tell my why only the central sections are labeled please let me know. Thank You! I have seeded a tile set of aerials in PseudoMercator (using the GoogleMapsCompatible grid) and is responding correctly to HTTP requests. Now I am adding a second projection t that tiles set (EPSG:25832) and thus added the entries in the mapcache.xml config file. I started the seeding of the new projection for the tile set and am not sure that it is set-up correctly because at zoom level 11 (seeding levels 11-19) it already produced (and id not finished yet) a huge amount of tiles (alerady over 120000 and counting !) , while for the GoogleMapsCompatible grid the total count for zoom level 11-19 is around 52000 or so. I was expecting about the same number of tiles for the other EPSG:25832 grid (because I reprojected the exact same bounding box and calculated the 19 resolutions (to tried to match the Google grid) from those . Below is the configuration file. Would anyone know what might be wrong and how to fix it ? or why my assumptions are incorrect ? First step is to get MapCache working with the pull-request I submitted some time ago. It relies on WMS requests to MapServer for the MVT tiles. Pull request is at: https://github.com/mapserver/mapcache/pull/166 Regarding the canceled requests: I'm not sure what up with those. However, I don't believe those are a server issue, rather a client-based. You can see the same behavior on other sites using vector tiles from other services (https://openmaptiles.com/downloads/dataset/osm/#0.23/0/-26) in Chrome DevTools. Could be related to pre-fetching resources. Regarding a unresponsive browser: There's likely a secret sauce in terms of the matching min/max scales you should offer a layer at, whether you should manage multiple resolutions of your data on the server and other filtering. The demo is very na?ve in that regard so you can end up with big tiles. At this point it's not something I can offer a ton of help with - I don?t have a production MVT application yet. When you say it relies on WMS requests does that mean it generates raster tiles or vector tiles in PBD file format? I don't have mine mapcache example working yet so i don't know what to expect. About canceled requests i found related "issue" discussed on leaflet forum: https://github.com/Leaflet/Leaflet.VectorGrid/issues/136 But i don't see a problem with that because all entities are loaded on my map. I will have to find that secret souce yes, will try to optimize my map file for different scales. Pregenerated vector tiles would also help. Thanks for your answers. Here is the line which produces the error I see, after checking against tile->grid_link->grid_limits https://github.com/mapserver/mapcache/blob/master/lib/tileset.c#L176 But I can find nowhere in the code where either 1) gridlink->restricted_extent is substituted into grid_link->grid_limits, or 2) A check is performed of tile->grid_link->grid_limits against gridlink->restricted_extent Shouldn't I be able to find such code? MapCache computes the proper extent based on the requested tile and then kicks off a WMS call for vector tile. The pull request creates support for a new generic ?raw? format. MapCache doesn?t know much about files in this format, just a mime-type, so things like metatiling, image processing or tile assembly aren?t supported. You do get the cache management though. The raw format is not specific to vector tiles so you could use it for other formats like GeoJSON or UTFGrid. Anyway, in my mapcache.xml file I have the following setup: mvt application/vnd.mapbox-vector-tile http://mapserver.localhost/cgi-bin/mapserv? sna,wma,lakes,major_roads,places application/vnd.mapbox-vector-tile /Users/sdlime/work/mvt-demo/demo.map wms_mvt g disk MVT Then, if you look at the simple.json file in my demo repo you just change the source for the vector tiles layer to reference MapCache (I was running as FastCGI) instead of MapServer (mode=tile), so from: "tiles": ["http://mapserver.localhost/cgi-bin/mapserv?map=/Users/sdlime/work/mvt-demo/demo.map&mode=tile&tilemode=gmap&tile={x}+{y}+{z}&layers=all&map.imagetype=mvt"], to: "tiles": ["http://mapserver.localhost/cgi-bin/mapcache.fcgi/gmaps/mvt at g/{z}/{x}/{y}.mvt"] One thing to note is that you can control the resolution that each tile is created at. Each tile has a grid associated with it and that is used to convert the features to a grid-based coordinate system. The higher the resolution of that grid the more detail is represented in the tile. The default is 4096x4096. You can change that value via the MVT output format, for example: OUTPUTFORMAT NAME ?mvt? DRIVER MVT FORMATOPTION ?EXTENT=512? END A smaller resolution or extent will generally result in smaller tiles. --Steve From: Miha Po?auko [mailto:mihapozauko at gmail.com] Sent: Tuesday, June 26, 2018 3:09 AM To: Lime, Steve D (MNIT) Cc: mapserver-users at lists.osgeo.org Subject: Re: [mapserver-users] Status of MVT vector tiles? I found that pull request before thanks, will play around with it some more. Will track your github for further updates. Miha V V pon., 25. jun. 2018 ob 23:57 je oseba Lime, Steve D (MNIT) > napisala: Will do. I have a working MapCache example on my dev box that I can share pieces from. Hey Steve. I have a working demo using your data and when zooming out not all vector tiles load and browser becomes unresponsive (image below). To avoid overloading my computer when zooming out and causing my browser to crash I would like to use mapcache, but I'm struggling to set it upt. Can you please give a working example using mapache? I can see there are also a lot of canceled requests but they are not causing my browser to crash. Do you know what produces them? Thanks. -- Sent from: http://osgeo-org.1560.x6.nabble.com/Mapserver-User-f4226646.html _______________________________________________ mapserver-users mailing list mapserver-users at lists.osgeo.org https://lists.osgeo.org/mailman/listinfo/mapserver-users -- Lp, Miha -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... Message-ID: <3b4959e0d08a8e02fd3157a49c56a741@birdlife.fi> Hello list, We are currently using php-mapserver-apache on centos7. Now there is one wms-server, which is using wms server version 1.3.0 and our mapservers client does not. It seems to be quite big change to update our current version 6.2 to 7.2 beta and run it on same host as php-scripts and apache. It there some way to isolate mapserver on docker or run it on another host without http-server? On docker hub there is only images, which are including http-server with mapserver. -- Antti J. If you do that, you?d probably need a http server inside the container but then you would proxy that out to your external http server. Michael Smith > On Jun 30, 2018, at 9:59 AM, Antti J.
