    Yes, but in most (all?) implementations OpenLayers is loaded only
    once into your browser.&nbsp; It then makes requests to mapserver for
    data (i.e an image on every pan and zoom).&nbsp; In the "old" way
    (without OpenLayers or some similar JavaScript/Java package) of
    configuring mapserver, mapserver would deliver HTML, images, etc to
    render the entire interface on every pan and zoom.&nbsp; I don't think
    many people use it this way anymore since browsers are a lot more
    capable, but you can configure it this way if you really want to. <br>
    <br>
    &nbsp; Have a look at the OpenLayers examples.&nbsp; Use your browser's
    debugging tool to see the conversation between OpenLayers and
    mapserver.<br>
    <br>
    Note to Mapserver documenters: we need to update the Mapserver
    Introduction (especially the "Anatomy...") to show the more modern
    AJAX style implementation.<br>

                relational database such as PostGIS would be a good
                choice for the data storage.&nbsp; The tables would depend on
                which features are important to you (positions, tracks,
