The other day I got handed a brochure for "MEST 2000" -- the 4th annual Middle East Spatial Technology Conference 7 Exhibition.  And it even mentions open source software as one of the topics they're interested in: http://www.engineer-bh.com/mest2007.

Do we have anyone in OSGeo with ties to the Middle East?
