Hey marketing folks,

As stated in a prior email, in my attempts to promote FOSS4G in the larger
Open Source Community, I applied for a OSCON non-profit exhibitor spot. I
applied on behlaf of OSGeo, because FOSS4G is a part of the OSGeo family,
but not really an organization in itself.

Good news, OSCON Austin <https://conferences.oreilly.com/oscon/oscon-tx>
have chosen OSGeo to take a spot as a non-profit exhibitor. So we get a
table, 2 seats, and 1 badge.

While I would love to attend on behalf of OSGeo, I think that it would make
more sense to have some local folks take part in this. In my mind I would
love to talk Sara Safavi into this if she is available. Also, if possible
we might be able to get Thea from LocationTech, who is local-ish, to attend
and then we could also share the potential outreach to the larger
community? To be clear, I am sharing my thoughts, these folks have not been
notified of my idea.

Please let me know what you think and if needed, could we meet to discuss
this week?

Also, to be clear, I am still trying to get a spot at the AAG in Boston
<http://www.aag.org/cs/calendar_of_events/aag_annual_meetings> (which I
will be able to attend without issue) and I am also thinking about talking
to the folks at Red Hat Summit Boston
<https://www.redhat.com/en/summit/2017> as well.

Thank you for your guidance,

Guido

p.s. here is a listing of the events with their dates in order:

4/5-4/9 AAG, Boston
5/2-5/4 Red Hat Summit, Boston
5/10-5/11 OSCON, Austin

p.s.s. The AAG option I speak of is now something I am talking to Jody,
Boundless, and LocationTech about because there is no free pass
