Sorry folks - I should have done that when I proposed him.
Hugues is the person who has been doing most of the coordinate system work on our products for several years now. When Norm was still running Mentor as a separate company, Hugues was the person on our side working with him and integrating CSMap into our products. Now that Norm has joined us he's on the same team as Hugues so they will be working very closely together. As we get MetaCRS up and running I think you're going to be seeing Hugues and Norm as the point people from our side making contributions not only to MetaCRS but also to the MapGuide project to use some of the things we make available in MetaCRS. Norm of course will continue to be our expert on all of the technical aspects. Hugues' role on coordinate systems work going forward is likely to become more managerial which is why I think he'd be a good choice to help set up the structure for the new project.

Gary,
Could you introduce Hugues (background, role, etc)?
Note, we have lots of latitude to extend the PSC once it is formed and
I have some other folks in mind too. So it isn't critical to get everyone
in early. But if, for instance, Hugues will be working closely with Norm
on CSMAP maintenance and development he might be a good candidate to join
at the start so he can influence a good setup.
Best regards,
