+1 Andre
One additional comment though (in addition to what Hugues has said): Wouldn't we wanted to keep the 2008 project files anyway, i.e. in parallel?
We cannot assume anyone to use the new compiler + VC runtime in their custom project. In fact, we also haven't switched to the new runtime from day 0 on. It would be a true burden then to produce VC 9.0 output.
Anyways - either way is fine for me (i.e. keep the old project files in parallel or not to keep the maintenance effort low).
Thanks,
André

+1 Norm
I expect to rename/relocate the solution/project files so that all will remain accessible.

+1 with one comment
Since CS-Map is statically linked to MapGuide and MapGuide is not ported yet to VS2010, I would keep around the current projects and solutions until the port occurs on their end too I haven't seen any announcement on the MG internals yet but I guess it should happen anytime soon
Thanks
Hugues

Norm,
I am +1 on:
http://trac.osgeo.org/csmap/wiki/CsMapRfc4
BTW, I feel like this falls into the category normal maintenance that doesn't need a RFC though it is nice to peg a stake in the ground about building clean at /W3.
Best regards,
