[Oceania-Board] Request for Funding for FOSS4G International Conference Travel Grant Program

Dear Board,

I am writing on behalf of the Travel Grant Committee to request funding for
the travel grant program for the FOSS4G International Conference, which
will be held in Auckland this November.

OSGeo has indicatively committed AUD $15,000 towards this initiative. We
would like to request that OSGeo Oceania match this amount to further
support our efforts.

Our goal is to use the OSGeo Oceania funding to prioritise individuals from
the Pacific region. We understand that this request for higher funding may
present some budget constraints. However, we believe that this conference
is a unique opportunity for our community members to gain valuable
knowledge and network with international experts in the field. Such an
opportunity is unlikely to present itself again in our region for several
years.

We are happy to discuss this proposal at the next board meeting and work
with whatever the Board decides.
